就这样，小王子驯服了狐狸。当他快要离开时——狐狸说：“哎呀，我想哭了。”
So the little prince tamed the fox. And when the hour of his departure drew near—"Ah," said the fox, "I shall cry."
小王子说：“这是你自己的错。我从没有想要伤害你，是你让我驯服你的……”
"It is your own fault," said the little prince. "I never wished you anysort of harm; but you wanted me to tame you... "
“对啊，就是这样的。”狐狸说道。
"Yes, that is so," said the fox.
“可是你快要哭了！”小王子说道。
"But now you are going to cry!" said the little prince.
“确实是这样，”狐狸回答说。
"Yes, that is so," said the fox.
“那这样对你没有任何好处！”
"Then it has done you no good at all!"
“有好处，”狐狸说，“因为麦子的颜色我还是得到了好处。”然后他补充道：“再回去看看那些玫瑰花吧。现在你应该明白了，你的玫瑰花在这世界上是独一无二的。到时候再回来和我说再见吧，那时我还会告诉你一个秘密当作礼物。”
"It has done me good," said the fox, "because of the color of the wheat fields." And then he added: "Go and look again at the roses. You will understand now that yours is unique in all the world. Then come back to say goodbye to me, and I will make you a present of a secret."
小王子走了，又去看了那些玫瑰花。
